There are 2 large windows so the room gets lots of sun. There is a small closet with a hanging rod and shelf. The rest of the apartment is fairly large with an eat-in kitchen and a large living room with two couches. It is a very roomy, comfortable apartment.
The rest of the building is pretty diverse, some families, some older folks, and even someone who is rumored to be a Real World alum. John is our unofficial doorman who will greet you whenever you come home late and he adds a lot of character to the building.
In the area, there is the best Deli in New York (Joe's Gourmet Deli) across the street, and a laundromat right next door. We are close to the 1 on Broadway and the A/C on Central Park West. Only blocks away from Central Park, or if you prefer, Riverside Park in the other direction. Abbey Pub is just down the street and great local hangout. The location is perfect for students as well, Columbia University is close by in the neighborhood.
The roommates are Sarah and Tori. They are in their 20's and very chill. We like to keep it low key in the apartment but are open to occasional dinner parties and guests. We are looking for a female roommate who is similarly chill & non-smoking.
Rent for the room is $1025+ utilities which run about $40/month. Utilities include - Electricity/gas/cable internet/basic cable and water/heat are included in rent. To move in, you will need to fill in an application for a credit check with the landlord. Security deposit due at decision to move-in = $2000, 1st month rent due by August 5th = $1025. Move in date is August 1, 2009. I will be out of the apartment on July 28th, so if you need the few extra days I can prorate the rent.
