Software Developer Position Description - Develop mostly web based software (LAMP + AJAX) with some server side coding in a UNIX environment
Qualifications Bridge Base is seeking an experienced software developer with the ability to get loose specs and effectively run with it on their own. The ideal candidate would be someone who is careful but not a perfectionist. You should be comfortable enough with general programming concepts that it would be easy to pick up a new programming language if the task called for it. - Must have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent certification
- Must have 3+ years of relevant programming experience.
- Must have a strong grounding in at least one major programming language (C, Java)
- Must have experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). Some browser application development (AJAX, Java applets) preferred.
- Nearly fluent in spoken and written English
- Enough design sense to produce applications that will be viewed by our community.
- Have a reliable Internet connection
- 2 hrs a day of the work shift must coincide with the standard workday (9-5) in the Eastern Standard Time of the United States
In addition the developer is expected to be - Courteous and friendly
- A proactive problem solver
- A team player willing to receive active management and work well with colleagues
- Reliable and responsive
Duties The Developer may be asked to do anything from whip up a quick user-form to develop an entire customer care system. Usually it will be something in between. |
